Is cloud just a rehash of failed Application Service Provider and Storage Service Provider (ASP/SSP) models from the late 1990s.  Absent security, enforceable SLAs, and interoperability standards, should we trust our data to the cloud?

Analysts have been pushing this grindhouse double-feature for a couple of years. We agree that data is mismanaged, but do companies need to rush out and buy more disk storage?  We have our doubts, and so should you.
